Hi lovelies. I’m heading back to coastal California this week. Packing for the trip has me thinking of my former life there –  apartments, circles of friends, first forays into fashion, and especially surfing. While this painting was purchased on one of my one hundred visits to the deep coastal South, it reminds me of Southern California. The artist, Gaston Locklear, captures the soul of the earth with his artwork. He is as truthful in his paintings as he is in person. This particular piece hangs in my Brooklyn apartment, nearby a recent gift I received from the EatSleepWorkSurf founder: canvas coasters mounted on wood blocks. A simple and original token for the sea-loving person in your life.
