La Flèche d’Or {Paris}
What are your weekend plans? Going anywhere? I’m staying put in Brooklyn all weekend long, planning to live a version of a Parisian day I had last week. This will include hitting up a handful of bookstores and listening to live music. While I was in Paris, I perused poetry on the Bagnolet (aka a street in the 20th arrondissement) and wandered into La Flèche d’Or, a beloved music venue known for showcasing upcoming indie and electronic artists.
Get out there, whether solo or with your party people. Whether in Paris or your hometown. Get out there and live. Cheers for a weekend full of life.

Montauk Photo Diary {Part Deux}
Who doesn’t enjoy a weekend in the sun and surf? Throw in a wedding with a spectacular circle of people and you’ve got yourself something pretty good. My first go around of sharing shots snapped on an iPhone went over so well I thought I’d give you a little bit more. Cheers to my cousin, Sean, and his beautiful wife, Gloria! Love is all around.

Montauk Photo Diary
This past weekend, I spent every single second under the sun and stars of Montauk with my most favorite people in the whole wide world. With several generations of family gathered around this special place, we celebrated the first of my dozens of cousins to tie the knot! Life is good when days are devoted to the sand and waves of Gurneys Resort & Spa and Ditch Plains Beach. If you have learned anything from JBD, I hope it is to ENJOY LIFE.

Cape Cod Photo Diary
I cruised up to Cape Cod last weekend for sand, surf and time well spent with my best friends. What a city escape. Quiet blue skies, crashing waves, good wine, dinner parties at home and sunset cocktails on a Woods Hole dock overlooking the Elizabeth Islands.
We walked to Falmouth’s Surf Drive Beach, kayaked Old Silver Beach, and took an easy ride into town.
Just when you think the day can’t get any better on Cape Cod, the view keeps happening well into the evening.

A Walk in Charleston
If you follow me on social media you may recall seeing a Fourth of July boating adventure. I was in the heart of South Carolina, visiting one of my dearest friends. After the evening of spirits and fireworks, we took a walk around her neighborhood for a real catch-up. Charleston is as classic and classy as it gets.

Far Meadow
Far Meadow is on a helping of 20 delicious acres, bordered by the Sierra National Forest and about an hour from Yosemite. I am wishing and hoping to settle into an A Frame before the year’s end. The private property also offers a traditional log cabin for laying your head, and no matter where you sleep you’ll feel complete with mountain bikes, BBQ, fishing streams and even indoor plumbing. Sign. me. up.

DREAMY
Just feeling quiet and dreamy today…sing along with me to the tunes of Rilo Kiley.
Let it be printed, let it be known
I’m leaving you, I’m going home
And all you can do is just watch me go
I’ve put you down, talked you up, defended your honor
And then packed it in and picked it up
And all you can do is watch me go
From the Eastern seaboard, the landlocked Midwest
The Keys, the Alps, the Black Hills and Budapest
With my heart in a sling, tail between my legs a-swinging
I’m sorry for leaving
But when the palm trees bow their heads
No matter how wrong I’ve been
L.A., you always let me back in
And you can bury me when my body breaks
In the earth that created me, in the Golden State
By my mama and her brother and their mama too
‘Cause I had a dream I was carried on backs
Of a thousand green birds
And they carried me to a place without words
And there was nothing, but there was everything
And it sounded like this
But when the palm trees bow their heads
No matter how cruel I’ve been
L.A., you always let me back in
And when the palm trees bow their heads,
No matter how cruel I’ve been,
L.A., you always let me back in, in
Oh back in, in
Oh back in, in
